Dr G. V. G. Krishnamurty, President of the Yellapragada SubbaRow Centenary Celebration Committee, passed away on 14 April 2021. He was 86. He was an Election Commissioner of India from 1 October 1993 to 30 September 1996 and strengthened laws and procedures for conduct of elections. His speech inaugurating the Centenary Celebrations in 1995 can be heard in a video in this website.

Dr Mangalam Swaminathan (1964-2017), patron of SubbaRow Club and Programme Director of Indira Gandhi National Centre of Arts, passed away on 7 October 2017.
Profile Mangalam Swaminathan was born on 29 March 1964 at Srivilliputur Tamilnadu. With a BA in English Literature from Madras University in 1984 and a Diploma in Journalism from YMCA Delhi, Mangalam began her career in journalism in 'The World of India' tourism magazine in June 1985. She worked for Probe Magazine, was associated with Press Institute of India working with Director Prakasa Rao for Data India and Vidura, moved to United News of India (1986-1994), and Newstime of the Eenadu group (1994-1996). Joining the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts as assistant director of the information and publicity unit and was program director at the time of her tragic death.
Mangalam was a moving spirit among members of the SubbaRow Club which maintains the website www.ysubbarow.info. She helped mount the SubbaRow Centenary Exhibition and associated activities in Chennai in 1995.
She had initiated collaboration with S P K Gupta for publishing a compendium of reminiscences of Dr Homi Bhabha by friends and associates.

New Delhi: Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Acquires from S P K Gupta the originals of Dr SubbaRow’s Correspondence from USA with Wife Seshagiri and her family members as well as his Harvard Papers. It also acquires from Gupta digitized versions of these papers as well as the SubbaRow Papers of Lederle Years, audio files and transcripts of Gupta’s interviews with relatives and associates of Dr SubbaRow amd microfilmed versions of other SubbaRow Papers. Kakinada (AP): Kastury Ramachandra Rao, brother-in-law of Dr SubbaRow, passes away. He was the link to family archives from which the Kastury family provided Gupta the correspondence of Dr SubbaRow correspondence with Seshagiri and her family members resting in the NMML Archives.

Bhimavaram, West Godavari district, AP: Dr SubbaRow’s birthplace observes 63rd Death Anniversary, taking out his portrait in a procession which terminated at a rally addressed by the local MLA and MLC.
